Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon
You Will Not Make This Leap!

My friend are you trying to get to God on your own strength? Maybe you don't believe in God and you think there is nothing on the other side?

But... what if you are wrong?

Did you know that God had a plan when He created the world that we live in? He also had a plan when He made you!

The most wonderful experience that can happen to you is to discover and participate in God’s plan for your life.

1. This great discovery begins when you realize God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.

a. God Loves You

i. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

b. God Has A Plan For Your Life

Jesus Said.… I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” This is a life full of meaning and purpose. John 10:10B

Why is the world always in a state of war, and why are most people not experiencing God’s love and living the abundant life?

2. Because man is a sinner and sin has separated him from God. The Bible says...

a. “Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you…” Isaiah 59:2

There is a mighty gulf between us and God that we cannot overcome. There is not a man alive that can span the distance of the Grand Canyon on his own strength.

b. God did not make man a puppet on a string to love and obey Him automatically; but gave him a will and freedom of choice.

c. Every one of us, you and me included, has chosen to disobey God in so many ways.

The bible says “For there is not a just man upon the earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.” Eccles. 7:20

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23. Just like trying jump across the Grand Canyon, you will always come short of reaching the other side.

Sin keeps us from reaching that side, that side of holiness. Sin is missing the mark of perfection; a falling short of Gods plan for your life and results in spiritual death. The bible says “For the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23. This death is a complete separation from God who loves you and created you.

3. Mans self efforts cannot repair the damage created by sin.

a. Man has attempted to bridge the Grand Canyon which separates him from God by doing good works, living moral lives, devising profound philosophies, even being religious… but he has always failed.

i. The bible says “Not by works of righteousness which we have done…” Titus 3:5a

There is only one remedy for the problem of SIN and SEPARATION

4. Jesus Christ crucified is God’s remedy for sin

“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.” 1 Peter 3:18

When Jesus died on the cross made of wood, He paid for all our sins and bridged the gulf that separated us from God. Meaning He made a way for us to have the abundant life.

God’s love is greater that man’s sin!

“But God commendeth (proved) His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Jesus died a humiliating, agonizing death, but He did not remain dead. He defeated death and rose again that we might have a personal relationship with God. The Grand Canyon created by our sin has been bridged by Jesus’ death and resurrection (coming back to life from the grave).

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

How do we get this Life?

5. You must personally receive Christ as your Lord and Savior. For He is one and the same.

Romans 10:13 – “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Acts 16:31 – “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”

Right now would you realize that you are a sinner and that you need a savior? Would you recognize that you are on a one way trip to hell, an eternity without God (who created the world, and who love you unconditionally)? Would you trust in Jesus Christ as the only one that can save you from your sins?

If this is your desire then tell Him from your heart that you realize that you are a sinner because of what the bible says, and thank Him for dying for you on the cross. Tell Him that you are now trusting in Him as your personal Savior and that you want Him to take control of your life and to make you what He wants you to be.
